TEAM YOU

The Dallas / Fort Worth star-spangled producers program, SSP, brings veterans together in an uninhabited studio-classroom setting to produce gratifying multimedia projects and increase employability potential at the same time.  One of our graduates got hired at a major studio in Seattle, where the program began!  Our group discusses the type of project we'd like to create and decides in a democratic manner, which crew & cast positions each veteran will perform.  Experienced veterans are not required to undergo classroom training before participating, and the unexperienced benefit from cost free, hands-on training and certification, with curriculum written by Anthony Larson, MFA (producing).  Students demonstrate practical understanding of key concepts as they earn credit towards professional certification.   We are working to get approved so participants earn college credit.

VETERANS

NEWBIES - Provide free training and certification for local veterans.  You will need to study, take hand's-on examinations, and pass written tests.  All material is provided. EXPERIENCED / GRADUATED - Work together to visualize, write, fund, shoot, edit & distribute films!
 

LOCAL BUSINESS

We provide heavily discounted, high quality photo & video services for members of the local community that allow us to teach the veterans while working on projects.  An example would be taking the all-veteran crew to your restaurant and shooting videos of food preparation for your commercial.

LOCAL NON-PROFITS

Local non-profits in need of free or low cost media services can request to be connected with an advanced-level student possibly willing to provide service as work-experience required for an advanced level SSP certificate.  Professional equipment is always used.

Message from SSP founder / instructor, Anthony August Larson:

Hello fellow veterans!

There is an, "introduction to interviews" class on the horizon.

There is also a potential mini-doc together with a local news agency that wants to interview veterans who are fed-up with N. TX VA heath care. I know that applies to some of us, but are deciding wether or not we will participate in this one. Please let me know your thoughts.
